Pocky Biscuit - Double Dip Version

Everyone must have seen or heard of "Pocky" biscuit before. Surprisingly, it is actually sold at Target in Bay Area (ethnic food aisle section). You can also find this snack very easily at many small Asian supermarkets around the country.

When I was little, I ate these quite often as afternoon snack. I like plain chocolate flavor. Other flavor - meh. The correct way (in my opinion) to eat these is to bite about 0.3mm (0.01inch?) fast and sequentially - crunch crunch crunch. I used to compete with my classmates to see who can eat faster!

Strawberry Pocky - Double Dip Version!
There are many kind of Pocky flavor and many types of Pocky in Japan. Today, I'd like to introduce you a double dip version - Pocky ダブル禁断の二度がけチョコ (it reads "double kindan no nidogake choco"). It also translates to "forbidden double dip chocolate".

As you can see from the package that my daughter is holding, the chocolate part is quite thick (it claims to have 3.2 times more chocolate than the original version). It is also shorter than the regular Pocky. I tried strawberry flavor because that's my daughter's favorite but it also has cocoa flavor. Chocolate part is also very creamy and softer compared to the original version.

It is very tasty but this box only comes with 4 sticks x 3 packs. I can easily finish the whole box in one go!

Anyhow, if you are curious, check it out. Enjoy and you are welcome!

Ingredients: Green beans 1 cup Water 9 cups White sugars 3~4 Tbsp Step 1: Wash the green beans and add water Step 2: Add 1.5 cups of water in outer pot (about 40 min). Once done, steam it for 20 minutes. Then, add sugars.

Homemade Croissant

My kids love croissant. French croissant is very buttery and flaky. I love them too. However, the good ones will cost me several bucks per croissant if I buy it from a French bakery in the U.S. Last year, I decided to make them myself. I tried many recipes. This one is not as complicated and it tastes good. Warning - it is tasty but it doesn't taste like the ones from the bakery. How to make Sun Cake

Sun Cake is Taiwanese traditional sweets - sugar syrup inside layered pastry.Whenever I go back to Taiwan, I will get a box of this thing. Although it's not as flaky as the one sold in the store, homemade sun cake is pretty tasty too. Preparation takes a long time but it is not that difficult to make! Once done, kneel it again to make it a ball about 15g each (12).  All purpose flour (filter) 190g Powered sugar (filter) 20g Water 85g Oil (I use coconut oil) 30g Unsalted butter 45g     Ingredients for inner skin (油酥): Mix them all and make it a ball about 15g each (12).
